Whimsy Senses

We love Christmas at Frog on a Limb Primitives. The sights and sounds, the smells and tastes, and even the touch of Christmas, we try to express them all this time of year.

The snow in Monument comes at the perfect time to caveat our outdoor lights and decorations. Carols and sleigh bells ring down the street inviting visitors to our little Christmas wonderland.

As you enter our door, you might hear the rustic sound of the Appalachian Mountain Dulcimer strumming melodies of the season while the tanenbaum soy candle tickles your nose. More than 20 trees are fully regaled, inside our doors and out, with a thousand glimmering lights spotlighting hundreds of colorful handcrafted ornaments and decorations.

Plush snowmen, Santa and his helpers and other whimsical characters beg to go home with the next guest who can’t pass up the urge to give them a squeeze. Cold, prehistoric slates glisten with sparkling hand painted winter scenes. Randolph the Red-Nosed Snowman flickers on the trees in a hundred points of light. Carful! The mischievous Grinch might chuck an embroidered pillow at you when you aren’t looking, but he’s just hoping to steal attention from poor Charlie in a Box. No worries, the pillows are too soft to cause any harm regardless.

The tanenbaum is nudged out by sweet smells of chocolate merlot cake or hot peach wassail and you are drawn to the sample table to see if it all tastes as good as it smells… it does. Now you want to take it home… you can.

This is our favorite time of the year. Creativity reaches new heights even as the demand grows exponentially, which means we are exceptionally busy, but we love it all the same.

Sadly, the holy night will soon pass for this year, but we always have just a little bit of Christmas in us all year long. If you miss us this holiday season — try not too — but if you do, we’ll take kindly your “Merry Christmas” greetings all the year long.

God Bless and Warm Wishes this Christmas
