Monument Local Bob Gould wins Whimsy’s Trophy with his 1949 Oldsmobile

We want to thank everyone for all their help and support to make the 2014 Whimsy County Frog Festival and Show of Classic Conveyances a success.

Monument local Bob Gould took home Whimsy’s trophy this year with his immaculate¬†1949 Oldsmobile narrowly beating out last year’s winner, Gold Rush Chuck’s 1932 Chevy 5-Window.

The field was a little smaller this year and in the interest of fiscal responsibility in order to turn more to charity, we downsized the whole festival, but with support from Pikes Peak Brewing Company bringing in the food trucks, live music from Dena, Dena, Dena and The Go Arounds and their coolest idea, the human foosball court, it turned out to be a really fun event. Seven of our vendors and artisans showed their wares at the fest and 10 cars, mostly from Tri-Lakes Cruisers helped us draw a small crowd eager to donate to our charity of choice, Healing Warriors Program.

At the end of the day we are happy to have earned nearly $800 to Healing Warriors Program, which is really what it is all about. We want to thank everyone who participated or took the time to see our store, our talented artisans, and help support a great cause. Thank you, and we’ll do it again next year, bigger and better.

Ribbit!!

It was a narrow race between Gold Rush Chuck's 1932 5-Window Chevy that won last year and Bob Gould's Olds, but the Olds won the trophy this year.

We are happy our '63 Studebaker Lark was in the running, but the Olds deserved the win
